SNAG® which stands for Starting New At Golf has been voted as the # 1 FIRST TOUCH program in golf designed specifically for the entry-level player. The creators of SNAG are two former US PGA players. It is the World Golf Foundation’s primary teaching tool at all their 4200 schools and has been selected as the National School program for Scotland, Japan, Taiwan and the U.S. It is used by more than 3,000 PGA professionals worldwide and has programming implemented in more than 50 countries.
SNAG® contains all the elements of golf but in a modified form It introduces a wide range of colourful oversized clubs and balls scientifically designed to make golf an easy to learn sport for beginners. The game has its own simplified rules and word cues that adds fun to the learning and playing experience. Falling somewhere between miniature golf and regulation golf, SNAG® allows for full shots, pitching, chipping, and putting. The SNAG Ball™ has a limited distance, with the average player launching it a maximum of 50 yards.
SNAG® only has two clubs: the Launcher™ is used to launch, pitch, and chip the ball; like a putter, the Roller™ is used to roll the ball toward the target All shots other than rolling (putting) are played off of a mat and tee called the Launch Pad™. This ensures that the player will have an optimal lie every time.
SNAG® is also a training program for beginners' fun. It's easy to learn, and it's easy to teach. It's a comprehensive system that has been developed through years of research and field experience. The key is in simplifying the instruction so that it can be an effective transition into the game of golf.
SNAG® is the official golf development program at schools in Japan and is the primary teaching tool at all Annika Sorenstam Foundation Golf Academies.
Closer home, it has in the last month become the official junior program at The Bombay Presidency Golf Club and Willingdon Sports Club, Mumbai. As well as Gulmohar Greens Golf and Country Club Ahmedebad. Over the next few weeks this program will be adopted by another dozen golf and sports clubs.
